Throughout my career I have taken, developed, investigated and adjudicated or authorized claims for retirement, survivors, disability, and health insurance benefits. I have developed and processed ESRD claims. I have prepared written notices for beneficiaries, and co-workers explaining processing component, entitlement issues and complex technical processing instructions. I routinely review attorney fee agreements to determine payments and apply them to adjudicative decisions. I prepare determinations at the initial level and post entitlement level to support my decisions on certain claims where a decision was not clear, citing SSA law, regulations and procedures. I analyze interview data and prepare informal and formal reports to management with suggestions to improve office processing. I provide assistance and mentoring to other employees on technical issues. All employees feel comfortable asking me as a first option for technical answers related to policy and entitlement. I have worked closely with local businesses to develop and plan HR announcements for their employees reaching retirement age. Recently I worked with Denise Phelps at GE Aviation to develop a package she hands out to her employees nearing or at retirement age and are filing for Social Security soon. I find this work particularly rewarding to not only the public but also our staff as we develop ways for the retirees to increase internet services. I worked on an OIG cadre developing for prisoner overpayments and missed entitlement errors for our area. I served as officer of the combined federal campaign and developed close relationships with the staff to foster support of the program. This is a campaign within the federal agency that provides assistance to needy families, especially during the holidays. Worked as an Area Operations Analyst from 03/15-05/15. Selected for a CUB detail. Currently working as an SSI Concurrent Claims Operations Supervisor.
