About Ian Diveney

Before relocating to the UK I worked at executive levels in the Victorian Education Department. Some of the areas of responsibilities included being the Business Manager to the Chief Executive. I also worked in the Communications department covering areas such as Media, Events Management, Publications, internal and External Communications, staff management, budget management in addition to other roles. I won a prestigious award from the Victorian Public Service Commissioner for a flexible working project which involved quantitative and qualitative research. Whilst with the Education Department I led, developed and delivered a media monitoring intranet site for departmental staff and received highly positive feedback from senior executive management and ministerial staff. Whilst not within my scope of responsibilities I was called upon to deliver this project which I was proud to implement. Prior to leaving I worked on the Restructure of one Portfolio within the Department, including the allocation of budgets and staff to the newly restructured Portfolio. This involved high level negotiating on funding issues and implementing the staffing arrangements including redundancies that led from the restructure. This included the prioritisation of over $250 million dollars and an establishment of over 150 staff. I have worked in various HR roles during my time with Oldham Council currently navigating the complicated world of government pensions. My views are my own.
