About Ian Downey

With 15+ years’ experience in software development, implementation and professional services leadership across ANZ, I believe that creating innovative, impactful solutions is only half of the mission – it’s customer-focused implementation that ensures optimal benefits realisation. And key to this is my ability to bring together robust technical skillset as a software developer, with more recent experience in practice leadership. I champion communication, interpretation and explanation as the key to successful high risk, business critical solutions. Operating in life-saving project environments from the beginning of my career, I’m familiar with the criticality of developing best in class digital solutions in the fight for survival. Today, I draw on core strengths in relationship management and lateral problem solving to develop solutions that address root cause problems, realise opportunity and improve customer satisfaction. With the direction set, I remain hands-on in execution, and as a conduit between technology and the business, proactively manage risk and maximise positive outcomes. I have always strived to find the best way of doing things, and as a leader, I instil this drive in others. Seeing an opportunity to help law enforcement, health, transport and government agencies better prepare for and respond to emergencies, I founded ILD Consulting in 2010. Leveraging and building the functionality of emergency management software WebEOC, I gained international credit for the development of systems across Australia and New Zealand. Ready to add further value, I sold ILD to Juvare in 2019, and since, have played a leading role in establishing a profitable, high performance and customer focused professional services team in the APAC region.
