Schweitzer Engineering LaboratoriesContributed to development of FPGA code for satellite-synchronized clocks, wireless radios, and protective power system relays. Participated in architecting and developing an FPGA-based Ethernet switch. Developed and implemented FPGA-based DSP algorithms (CIC, FIR, IIR) used in power systems relays. Currently define, teach, and enforce VHDL and RTL development rules used in all FPGA and CPLD designs at the company. Manage a group of three other FPGA developers.Knowledge of low-level Ethernet, including developing FPGA-based fiber optic Ethernet PHYs implemented in FPGAs, link and network layer frame generation and routing, VLAN parsing, MAC address lookup, and deep packet inspection. Developed vendor-independent code capable of synthesizing in FPGAs from Xilinx, Altera, and Microsemi.
