About Ian Galbraith

I started off after school studying graphics and design, then studying building design and construction, Architectural science, A+ level maths and worked for Waller & Partners Architectural Services working on Morrisons, Midland Bank and Ellesmere Port. I decided that Architecture was too much sat at a drawing board and decided that i wanted to have a more "hands on" career. This led me to starting an apprenticeship at a monumental masons, after 6 years I took on a run down masonry company and set too to build the business up and for it to be a well respected masonry business within its trading area. In 2009 I was asked to take over F. Hanson & Son monumental masons and to bring this business kicking and screaming into the 21st century, In 2012 I set up its sister company and the main hub of where the majority of work was done. 2015, this year I have become self employed, I am currently helping a friend who runs a large building conversion company, this is giving me new string to my my bow. November 2015 was the birth of Galbraith memorials, I have created a business where we can supply, letter and install memorials I also offer handcut letters and sculpture work.
