About Ian Gamble

This straight talking West Coast Eagles devotee’s passion for the shop and office industry was inspired by his mentor and first boss, the entrepreneurial Rocco Fazzari. It was in Fazzari’s business – International Cabinets Pty Ltd based in Perth – where Ian completed his joiner/cabinetmaker apprenticeship. Quickly rising to Factory Manager/Estimator in the newly-formed Focus Shopfitters Pty Ltd, Ian learnt inherently the ins and outs of what it takes (and cost) to deliver excellent work within budget and timeframes. His knowledge was then put to good use as a lecturer at Leederville College of TAFE; however it was the call of the business world that resulted in Ian going back to Focus Shopfitters but this time as a shareholder along with Rocco Fazzari and Ken Toolin. By 2002 the business was owned by Ian, his brother Trevor Gamble and cousin David Shaw. Focus Shopfitters grew from strength to strength and became the largest shopfitter in Western Australia and a significant player in the shopfitting market nationally. The business was sold to Australasian Retail Projects in 2007. In 2010, Ian moved his wonderful wife of 23 years and three gorgeous daughters to Melbourne to take over as CEO of Australasian Retail Projects, shortly after which it re-branded as ONE Group Retail Experience. Ian held this position for almost 3 years resigning in October 2012 to bring his family back to Perth WA. In March 2013, Focus Shopfit Pty Ltd was born and together with his brother Trevor and a small team of dedicated individuals Ian will strive to bring back true value and service to this industry. Ian strongly believes in giving back to the sector from which he has gained so much; as such he has served the industry through, Australian Shop & Office Fitting Industry Association (ASOFIA) in numerous positions, culminating as National President in 2010.
