About Ian Gear

I am now the Regional Manager for Pirtek Port Hedland & Karratha and have taken on the challenges of hydraulic & industrial hose solutions in the broader Pilbara Region. Supported by a strong global brand we are building local teams of quality focused professionals and lifting the bar in our critical markets. We are now a force to be reckoned with and the ‘go to’ when it comes to -keeping you operating. I left Fuelfix & Tanks2go which is a fuel management solutions provider servicing the mining, transport, marine and oil industries based here in the Pilbara. Before joining Fuelfix, I worked as a Branch Manager for a year in Perth where I learned the basic principles of servicing the mining sector that included MNC clients such as Alcoa and Tronox. Prior to that, I was a National Category Manager for Steel & Tube Holdings in NZ. Working in the Pilbara Region has grown on me, especially when I’m part of a successful and supportive team culture. While I enjoy most aspects of my job, I get the most personal fulfilment from seeing the results of applying the knowledge gained from my studies combined with my management experience. I’ve recently completed my MBA studies with a high distinction grade in my thesis while working full time.
