About Ian Haddon

Executive manager with over 25 years’ project and commercial experience in 25 countries, EMBA, PhD.I have been fortunate to have worked internationally with various different cultures and nationalities and gained exploration and mining project as well as general commercial experience in over 25 countries including throughout Africa, Middle East, Central Asia, South America and Europe. I also have experience in advising and working on projects together with governments including chairing Southern African Development Community (SADC) working groups and joining bilateral governmental delegations.My expertise includes operational management, design and implementation of company strategy, implementation of business improvement processes, leading contract and partnership negotiations, financial analysis and optimizing organisational commercial and financial performance. I have also been responsible for the successful development and control of integrated business development, branding and marketing programs. I enjoy understanding and implementing solutions to complex problems. I have a collaborative leadership style and strongly believe in building and empowering strong management and executive teams. Recent achievements include setting up companies and strategic partnerships in the UK, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, DRC and Angola.My qualifications include Bachelors degrees in Economics and Geology from Rhodes University, a PhD in Geology from the University of Witwatersrand and I have an EMBA (MBA specializing in Executive Management, cum laude) from the UCT Graduate School of Business.
