About Ian Haggerty

As a Bristol University alumnus with an MSci in Maths & Physics (2010), I have over of decade of tutoring experience at various educational levels, both online and in-person. I've worked with students from a range of backgrounds and academic levels, including 11+, KS3, GCSE, A-Level and University. I've taught various British syllabi across mathematics, further mathematics, physics, and chemistry as well as preparing students for entrance exams like GAMSAT, MAT and PAT. At the undergraduate level, I've supported students pursuing degrees in physics, mathematics, economics, accounting & finance, chemistry, mechanical & civil engineering, optometry, and marine biology. I maintain a strong interest in technology and innovation, showcased through my active GitHub presence where I host a diverse set of personal & professional projects that reflect my evolving interests. Utilising my background in design and development, I've honed my digital teaching methods using tools such as Photoshop, Bramble, Desmos, and OBS. My global teaching experience includes working with students and agencies from China, Switzerland, Sweden, UAE, Russia and the UK. In 2023, I completed a data science bootcamp with HyperionDev. This intensive program bolstered my technical skills in Python, data analytics, NLP, and machine learning, while emphasizing the importance of soft skills in the tech industry. The experience was further enriched by connecting with South African peers, adding a unique cultural dimension to my learning journey. Leveraging a dynamic lifestyle, I also engage in fields such as web development, design and user experience. My passion for continuous learning is evident in my extensive digital library, especially in neuroscience, psychology, and philosophy.
