About Ian Hockley
Ian Hockley's 32 year career has spanned Information Technology, Publishing, Insurance and most recently the Non-Profit industry. Ian got his start at Coopers & Lybrand in public practice in 1991. He went on to work as an analyst at Aviva PLC before taking his first Controller role at a MBO of a division of Lloyd's of London. Ian joined IBM in December 1998 at their Software Development Laboratory in Hursley, England. He rose through the ranks, with roles as Lab Controller, Finance Manager for Northeast Europe Sales & Distribution before transferring to the US at Software Group's HQ based in Somers, NY. Ian and Nicole founded Dylan's Wings of Change in 2013, a foundation dedicated to the memory of their son Dylan who was murdered in the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre on December 14, 2012. Ian took long term leave of absence from IBM in 2015 to focus full time on the foundation and launch Wingman, a program steeped in experiential learning and ideal for social & emotional learning, leadership development and community building for youth and adults alike. In 2019 he left IBM permanently and has dedicated himself their surviving son Jake and spreading the Wingman movement in Dylan's memory. Learn more about this amazing program at our website:
