About Ian Hunter

I am passionate about new ideas, new technologies and doing things in a better way - for us as individuals, for companies and for the world. I work in highly innovative and fast-growing companies that are solving challenges and pushing the boundaries of what is technically possible in their sector. With a background in both physics and finance, alignment of the potential of new technologies to the needs of the customer is at the heart of every decision. By maximising value unlocked for the customer, everyone benefits, companies grow, and long-term trusted partnerships are possible. Following my PhD in astrophysics (Queen’s University Belfast), I moved into the finance work (KPMG and Bank of England). I joined the highly innovative company, Camlin Group, in 2013, initially in a finance role (Group Financial Controller), before moving over to General Manager Renewables focused on creating the new biogas business unit within Camlin and accelerating our focus in wind and solar sector for our monitoring technologies. I now hold the role of Business Development Director at Camlin Energy, leading a team who work closely with our customers to understand their needs and align our offerings to delivery maximum benefit and value from their investment and partnership with us.
