About Ian Knapp

I was admitted to the British Columbia bar in 2013. My practice is focused on civil, regulatory, and quasi-criminal litigation. The subject matter of my practice is quite diverse, and includes environmental matters, aboriginal title and rights, constitutional law, property boundaries and usage, and construction law. I have experience representing a broad range of clients involved in civil litigation, judicial review proceedings and statutory appeals, and those who have been charged with regulatory, quasi-criminal or criminal offences. I also prosecute and defend professional negligence claims. I have conducted proceedings in all levels of court in British Columbia, as well as the Federal Court of Canada and Federal Court of Appeal, and have represented clients in a variety of administrative tribunal proceedings, from the Residential Tenancy Board to the British Columbia Utilities Commission and Farm Industry Review Board.
