My accounting and industry experience I am well versed in financial accounting & analysis; consolidation; internal controls; and external reporting. Specific strengths include International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS); Sarbanes-Oxley financial controls (SOX); eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL); and Integrated Reporting. I have significant experience dealing with the stock exchange requirements, notably the JSE and NYSE, coupled with vast mining industry experience, cutting across numerous commodities, with greater involvement in gold, platinum and chrome. My successful career of 20 years at KPMG included involvement with numerous mining clients in South Africa, more broadly Africa, and Canada. Industry experience covers the geographical areas of Africa, North & South America and Australia. I have been with AngloGold Ashanti since November 2012 as part of the Corporate Accounting and Reporting team and was promoted to Senior Vice President: Group Finance on 1 March 2019 and to Interim Chief Financial Officer on 1 September 2020.
