About Ian McConkey

I’m a software developer for electronic design automation tools, with a background in engineering physics and atmospheric science. Across these fields, I’ve thrived on tackling complex challenges and continuously learning. Equally important to me is connecting with people. I find fulfillment in sharing what I know and helping others grow, and I’ve learned just as much by engaging with the diverse perspectives of people from different backgrounds. This has been a constant thread through my experiences mentoring colleagues, leading in Toastmasters, and encouraging students to pursue their dreams through Letters to a Pre-Scientist. Outside of work, I enjoy connecting with friends, playing music, and staying active. At the heart of everything I do is curiosity; the drive to learn, create, and collaborate.
