When I started my first IT Consulting business in 2015 I had no intentions of working with clients in cannabis. So, naturally, one of the first clients I landed was a startup cannabis business with two retail locations and a grow in Colorado. This was my turning point. The company's needs turned out to be like any other retail business, with a larger than expected gap in IT and ancillary services.I joined the team, over the next 7 years I led the effort to transform the organization's IT infrastructure and services. Working with developers, service providers, state and local agencies, SaaS products, suppliers, manufactures, and marketing and advertising teams, I was hooked. During this time I managed application development with various developers for everything from a custom SMS/MMS application built on Twilio as part of a CRM for managing a database of >100k active members, to custom web and desktop apps for sales and other BI dashboards. One of my biggest passions turns out to be systems integrations. As a newer vertical, Cannabis does not have the traditional IT infrastructure in place to function as a traditional CPG company. It has become a clear passion of mine to close these gaps.Over the past several years, I have taken a special interest in products and services provided by Microsoft. The ability to provide IT services in a highly compliant growing industry turned me on to continuing my professional education through certifications. My specialties include Azure AD policy and profile configuration for both users and devices, enterprise application management, IdP and IAM policy configuration and management, automation and SSO, on-boarding and off-boarding workflows, exchange and user admin management and security, tenant to tenant systems and data transfers, and Unified Endpoint Management. More recently I am advancing my skills with Postman and AzureCLI/Powershell to further automate bulk and repetitive tasks. Being a quick learner and hungry for new efficiencies, I am testing any other software, hardware, services and principles I can integrate into the knowledge base I have accumulated.
