Ian has over 30 years Securities Industry experiences, often applied through delivering Impact Assessments (regulatory / business strategy / business operating models). These leverage lots of aspects of his experience including a detailed understanding of client value propositions, front to back processes in both buy and sell side firms, risk management frameworks and processes, common data challenges, reconciliations, common issues causing fails, meaningful and effective controls and MI, and ways to minimise system implementation cost, complexity and risk. Recent examples include- T+1 assessments for broker, fund management and wealth management firms - Risk management for large regulatory change projects - Proof of concept to support board funding requests covering revised client proposition, new fee structure, new technology and new operating model. Ian's current areas of focus include: T+1. He is actively involved with the UK T+1 initiative. He led the TORI response to Accelerated Settlement Taskforce consultation paper and has led projects to help firms understand and plan for its impact (both cash securities and funds) ISITC Europe including roundtable programme planning, summaries and podcasts- Compliance (scope included MarketWatch 81, the move to T+1, the impact of speed on processing and controls including the dependency on accurate and timely data, and how Compliance and the First Line can work together effectively)- T+1 to T+0 to Tokenised Assets (how digital markets developments and T+0 settlement ambitions might or should be included in T+1 planning) Digitisation in Wholesale Financial Markets.
