About Ian Richardson

I’ve worked for over 20 years in the manufacturing industry with most of that being within the Automotive sector. I Began my career operating machinery, quickly moved to setting machinery and problem solving. Once I had an excellent understanding of how the business functioned, I moved to team leading before pursuing a career in management as a shift leader and then a title change to manufacturing supervisor. I currently manage a team of 30-40 staff supplying automotive parts to prestigious customers including BMW, Ford, Jaguar Land Rover, Lotus, Bentley and Perkins to name but a few. I’m loyal, hardworking, approachable, have an excellent manner and superb communication skills. I have a can-do attitude and I am focused on continuous improvement as well as self-development. I’ve successfully qualified to level 3 with the Institute of Leadership and Management, I have also gained a level 5 diploma with the Chartered Managers Institute. Both these qualifications are in Leadership & Management. I’m also an internal IATF accredited auditor. When not at work, I enjoy the outdoors, walking my dog, fishing, classic cars and caravanning. I’m also a social person who loves to spend time with friends and family participating in a glass of red or two!
