About Ian Scott

I am an unusual combination of experienced software developer, academic historian, writer, and teacher. I have worked as a full-time university professor in departments of religion for 20 years. For 14 years, though, a large part of that work involved developing and maintaining an interactive language learning application called Paideia Greek (https://learngreek.ca). I have also headed a team to create a digital repository of ancient Jewish literature (https://pseudepigrapha.org), and I am part of the core committee creating a new API standard for publishing textual data (https://distributed-text-services.github.io/specifications/). I am finally shifting my focus entirely onto software development, and I am actively looking for a position where I can put my unique combination of skills to work.
