About Ian Sergeant

Working toward equitable access to electric vehicles in my role as Program Manager for Forth, a non-profit org that envisions a world where clean and equitable transportation systems move everyone and everything. In my former life, I founded the not-for-profit Soltura Cuba Travel with the goal of facilitating authentic cultural exchange between Cubans and U.S. Americans. Informed by the values of the former social justice action group, Cuba AyUUda, U.S. travelers would act as citizen diplomats in order to bridge the political divide. From 2008 to 2019, I organized more than 120 meaningful group excursions into the fascinatingly rich culture of Cuba, building many friendships along the way. Influenced by the 7 principles of Unitarian Universalism, my tours highlighted respect for the interdependent web of all existence we are a part of. With restrictions imposed by the U.S. government under the Trump administration and furthered by the Biden administration (and of course the pandemic), I was forced to scale back my trips. As a passion project, I continue to work as a consultant.
