As a healthcare professional with over a decade of experience, I am passionate about learning, promoting integrity, and supporting clinical services within the Correctional Service of Canada. In my current role as Regional Professional Practice Lead, I collaborate with teams to implement best practices, align nursing services with professional standards, and enhance the quality of care provided to individuals in diverse and complex settings. My work focuses on: Supporting staff through training, mentorship, and the development of new processes to ensure professional growth and adherence to policy. I have experience collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to deliver patient centered care. I have experience working with the indigenous population and Elders in CSC that addresses the spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical needs of individuals, guided by the principles of the Medicine Wheel. Championing initiatives that foster cultural competence, including the integration of Indigenous healing practices into care plans. Throughout my career, I have cultivated a deep commitment to collaboration and respect, values rooted in my work with Indigenous communities and my professional nursing journey. I believe in empowering others, addressing challenges with integrity, and ensuring that healthcare services are delivered with a trauma informed lens.
