Background
About Ian Shoebotham
With over 20 years of experience in guiding and environmental education, I have a deep appreciation for nature and love to share this passion with others- Animals don’t read our textbooks- Hyenas are not the villains Disney led us to believe- Everything you have, want, and need comes from nature.(Think about it…)- And we’re all made of star stuff. In a world where it’s hard to know what’s real and what’s not…we’re walking the talk on connection, community, and conservation. SASHWA RIVER OF STARS Olifants River, Greater Kruger, South Africa Who is Sashwa River of Stars?* 20-bed lodge on the banks of the Olifants River in the Greater Kruger.* Plant-based menu from our organic garden / locally sourced produce.* Wellness – spa / yoga / meditation / art studio / retreats / star baths / and more.* Soulful safaris – slowing the pace down and connecting with nature.* Completely off-grid (run on solar).* And Koru Camp… KORU is our why. The goal is to inspire a new generation of conservationists who will cherish and protect these precious ecosystems. Koru connects local communities with their natural heritage and fosters a love for the environment. Sashwa River of Stars is a social enterprise and 100% of profits go back into Koru Camp and environmental projects within the Greater Kruger landscape. Who will love the Sashwa experience?* Vegans & vegetarians * Spiritual souls seeking wellness * Conscious / responsible travellers * Retreat facilitators
