About Ian Shotts

I currently reside in New York City, New York, and work at Ardent Eagle Solutions (AES), where I support the International Trade Administration (ITA), a division of the United States Department of Commerce (DOC). The ITA's mission is to foster prosperity by enhancing the global competitiveness of U.S. industries, promoting trade and investment, and ensuring compliance with trade laws and agreements. In my role, I contribute to this mission by supporting the Section 232 Investigation on the Impact of Steel Imports on U.S. National Security, where I diligently process exclusion requests from foreign companies on a legal basis. My journey to this position has been shaped by extensive experience in both the research and legal sectors. I have worked at a small think tank and non-profit organization, and also served as a digital marketing specialist in the legal industry. These roles have equipped me with highly transferable skills, allowing me to support and eventually contribute to executive teams, write and edit publications, facilitate communication across critical scientific and technological sectors by regularly engaging with subject matter experts, and organize international conferences aimed at addressing global challenges. I am deeply passionate about public service, community organizing, and human development. My multilingual upbringing, combined with a strong commitment to intellectual growth, competition, and improving the human experience, drives my daily efforts to enhance the lives of people from all walks of life.
