About Ian Taylor

I am a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers with broad, global, experience in the transportation industry. Working with Arup in USA, Europe, and Asia for 31 years and a Director of the firm for more than 20 years I was the leader of Arup's global aviation business from 2016-2024 and worked with colleagues around the world to deliver Arup's broad range of consulting services to aviation clients. I have worked on airport, rail/transit, road, bridge, business campus and transportation projects around the world and have played a key role in a number of major projects, including at Hong Kong Airport, New York’s JFK International Airport, Singapore, San Francisco, Second Avenue Subway in New York, Dublin Airport Terminal 2 and the rejuvenation of General Motor’s Warren Technical Campus in Detroit. My recent and current projects include several airports around the Asia-Pacific region and include Hong Kong International Airport's Midfield Concourse Development (Project Director), HKIA 3rd Runway Infrastructure (Project Director), Mactan-Cebu International Airport, Philippines (Project Director) and MTR's South Island Line (East) Admiralty Station expansion (Team Leader). I was leading the Engineering and Specialist service team for the design of Changi Terminal 5 in Singapore, as Project Director of the SJ, Arup and Mott MacDonald Joint Venture (SAM). Most recently, I have led Arup's role in the development of the Luton Airport Development Consent Order (DCO) submission.
