About Ian Trigg

I have fifty years experience in fire, safety & risk engineering in both the offshore & onshore industries. The last 40 years of which have been spent specialising in petrochemical projects in both the onshore and offshore markets, this being supplemented by earlier site experience in this field. Projects located in the British, Danish, Dutch and Norwegian sectors of the North Sea, the Caspian Sea, Australia’s North West Shelf, Kazakhstan and Canadian Newfoundland waters, from fixed wellhead & processing platforms, FPSOs, drilling ships to onshore pumping stations, processing terminals, LNG & NGL facilities, refineries and CO2 injection NUIs. During this time & while gaining my MSc I have been actively involved in the production of safety analyses and studies. Safety engineering experience encompasses: management of a team of safety engineers; participation & organisation of formal safety reviews: HAZID: HAZOP; LOPA & SIL, the generation of Dropped Object studies; PFP studies; PUWER assessment; hazardous area classifications; fire risk analysis charts; safety equipment & dangerous substances layouts. The work has also included: all aspects of the requisitioning process from the production of equipment datasheets, specifications & requisitioning documentation through vendor contract management to order closeout & the provision of technical input for various Design & Operational Safety Cases.
