About Ian Wilkinson

Working in Hellerup, just north of Copenhagen, as Ports Manager for Risk Intelligence. My role is to carry out port surveys and to compile information and data relevant to ports and port terminals/facilities, for inclusion on our web based system. All surveys and reports are underpinned by the ISPS Code. To that end, I am deployable onboard client vessels as required. I hold Seamans Book, ENG1 and Yellow Fever. Prior to this position, I was in Nairobi as Ops and Plans Manager for Salama Fikira. Ensuring efficient deployment of both armed and unarmed Guards and Bridge Advisors to clients at sea and ashore. I have 27 years experience in the Royal Navy as an Electronic Warfare specialist and Maritime Intelligence Analyst. Working in various locations around the world including the Middle and Far East, along with locations in the UK. I spent two tours in Bahrain as one of the Royal Navys '​in theatre' Counter Piracy Analysts. My first tour was from Nov 2010 to May 2011, an interesting time as the Arab Spring and the Pearl Roundabout were making the headlines. I managed the Electronic Warfare team aboard the Aircraft Carrier, HMS Ark Royal during a period of Fleet contingency operations as the Fleet Flagship.
