I am a lawyer in Lethbridge Alberta who specializes in Real Estate and Corporate Law. Establishing the firm of Alger Zadeiks Shapiro LLP has allowed me the privilege of choosing to work in the areas of law that I truly enjoy – and I believe that this enjoyment translates into the work that I do – my practice allows me to share in the excitement of clients buying their first home and the optimism of entrepreneurs starting their own businesses and planning for future success. I have advised clients ranging from national corporations to small family businesses. My practice is focused on the following areas: 1) Real Estate (including Commercial Financing) Residential I guide clients through the purchase, sale, and re-finance of houses, condominiums, rental and recreational properties. Commercial In this increasingly complex area of law, I represent: developers, builders, institutional lenders, commercial purchasers and sellers, condominium corporations, and owners of condominium properties. I am most often engaged to represent clients completing the following transactions-purchase and sale of commercial properties-financing by banks, trust companies, and other institutional lenders-negotiation of leasing arrangements with landlords and tenants-development of subdivisions-development of condominiums, including condominium conversions. 2) Business Law I am often engaged to represent clients in the following matters-advising clients on start-up matters including incorporations-preparation of shareholder agreements-purchase and sale of businesses-business succession planning-drafting contracts-corporate governance matters. 3) Wills Trusts and Estates Estate Planning; Trusts; Powers of Attorney; Personal Directives
