About Idris Abdelkhalek

Idris Abdelkhalek is a lawyer with the firm Kellerhals Carrard in Lausanne. He specializes in corporate law, as well as in Swiss and European competition law. Idris represents his clients before specialised jurisdictions in all matters of competition law and regulated markets, with a particular focus on energy markets. He also advises clients on mergers and acquisitions (M&A), international distribution, labor law, contract negotiations and various areas of corporate law, including ESG issues. Idris holds a bachelor's degree in law from the University of Fribourg, a master's degree in law from the University of Berne and an LL.M. from the College of Europe in Bruges, where he specialized in European law, particularly in European competition law. Idris also holds a PhD in law (Dr. iur.) from the University of Fribourg including a research stay at the European University Institute in Florence. His PhD examines the integration of ESG considerations into competition law and determines the extent to which companies can agree on sustainability objectives within the framework defined by Swiss and European antitrust regulations. Idris is also a member of the steering committee of the think tank foraus - foreign policy forum, the Swiss Competition Law Association (ASAS) and the International League of Competition Law (LIDC). He works in French, English and German.
