About Iffat Tuly

I am a passionate public health researcher from Bangladesh. Over the last 10 years of my career in health systems research, I have won several research grants as a Co-Investigator from multiple donors like- the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC-USA), World Health Organization, etc. through working in the arena of Urban Health, Health Systems, Human Resources for Health, Health Information System and Universal Health Coverage (UHC). In the last 7 years of my career, I have developed expertise especially in conducting Systematic Reviews. Moreover, during my career as USAID Research Fellow, I had the scope to analyze the program data of related to the country context of HIV/AIDS. My experience includes monitoring and ensuring the quality of collected quantitative data, and field management both in scientific and in managerial terms, through collaborating with stakeholders from the Bangladesh government and from the donors (e.g. USAID, WHO-TDR). I am trained in epidemiology, conducting systematic reviews, and synthesizing evidence. My interest in research is primarily concentrated on quantitative research. But I have conducted several projects using mixed-method approaches, analyzing the epidemiological transition of infectious diseases through the lens of intersectional gender approach, policy review, stakeholder analysis, explorative review with national policymakers, and in-depth situation analysis of various health systems bottlenecks. I have been proactively engaged in designing and organizing policy dialogues and developing policy communication material – with an aim to support evidence-informed policy making. Besides, on behalf of the professional engagement, I have contributed to arranging round table discussions, seminars, and dissemination meetings. I am a highly motivated, resilient, and outgoing individual, experienced in working with multi-disciplinary team members. Career Highlights: Achieved the USAID scholarship and worked in Family Health International (FHI 360) as – USAID Research Fellow.
