About Ignacio Pavez

PhD in Organizational Behavior, Case Western Reserve University Civil Engineer and Master of Science, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. I have been trained in organizational behavior at Case Western Reserve University with distinguished specialists in the field. I learnt Appreciative Inquiry with David Cooperrider and Ron Fry; Sustainable Value Creation with Chris Laszlo; Experiential Learning with David Kolb; and Resonant Leadership with Richard Boyatzis. I'm also certified as Ontological Coach by The Newfield Network, as CTT Certified Consultant by the Barrett Values Centre, and is accredited by Hay Group to apply the Emotional and Social Competency Inventory (ESCI), developed by Richard Boyatzis and Daniel Goleman, to develop leaders’ emotional intelligence. I'm currently an Assistant Professor at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, where I hold a joint academic position between the Business School and the Institute for Sustainable Development. My research focuses on the foundations and practices of positive (or appreciative) organization development and change, the study of teams in organizations, the integration of sustainability into the business strategy of a firm, and the potential of inter-organizational collaboration to tackle grand challenges. I'm also Director of Relaciona Consultores, Board Member of Fundación Nueva Educación, Chairman of Fundación Conserva Tu Bosque, Research Fellow at the Fowler Center for Business as an Agent of World Benefit (USA), Board Member of the Academy of Managementt Division of Organization Development and Change (USA), and Member of the Editorial Board for the Journal of Applied Behavioral Science (USA/UK). As a consultant, I have specialized at implementing the appreciative approach to organization development in organizations; embedding sustainability as a way to create competitive advantage; and developing value-based cultural transformation programs.
