About Igor Gembula

Dr. Igor Gembula studied at the Wirtschaftsuniversität in Vienna, Austria, and at the Faculty of Management at Comenius University in Bratislava. Igor currently has two roles: he is CFO/CSO at Webswing and CFO/COO at the AI startup ObviousFuture. He is also a partner in both companies. Webswing is a company that provides middleware for modernizing legacy desktop applications into modern web browsers. At Webswing, Igor implemented sales and finance processes, helping the company achieve a financial breakthrough in 2020. Today (DEC25), Webswing serves clients worldwide, with recurring revenue growing at over 40% CAGR over the last 6 years, with high profitability. ObviousFuture specializes in using machine learning to understand audiovisual context, allowing users to easily search their vast archives, predict future video sequences based on what AI has already seen, and understand interviews, for example. All this is done semantically according to meaning, not using tags (which we did 10 years ago). CaraOne, ObviousFuture's flagship product, understands not only objects, but also emotions, contexts, and the essence of being. Igor's main expertise lies in guiding start-ups to become fully functional companies, focusing on process development, financial management, legal matters, human resources, and other areas. In 2006, Igor co-founded CEEOR and led it to a successful exit. From 2017 to 2018, Igor served as CEO of Kantar Health CEE (CEEOR was part of Kantar Health from 2016 to 2018) and provided legal representation in Central and Eastern Europe. His experience with European projects includes the implementation of customer-focused processes in the UK, France, Italy, Spain, Central and Eastern Europe, and other countries.
