About Igor Kysel

Linux has formed the IT part of my life since about 2004, when I first tried SUSE linux. I finally abandoned MS Windows in 2007, switching to Ubuntu, then Xubuntu and finally Debian with xfce. Thanks to these, I learned a lot on OS administration, security, networking and other technologies. On my home server, a webserver with a MariaDB is running, beside a home NAS and VPN solution. After graduation, I got a job in this field as well, I started working as Linux Application Administrator at T-Systems. Later I moved on to a more technology specific job an have become AIX system admin in 2016.Since 2019, I returned to an application support-oriented position, as an Atlassian support specialist at FPT, supporting our client, Marel. I found that my technical skill did not go to waste, but helped me understand the inner workings and interactions of systems - this, applied to the integrations, business request implementations, and in concert with my communication skills, forms my daily work experience today. My spare time is still dedicated mostly to fiddling with my 5 Debian installations, but I find time for mountaineering, rock climbing, trekking, geocaching and other outdoor activities.
