Mr. Igor Yatskar, MS PT is President of Elmwood Home Care, Elmwood Adult Day Healthcare, Elmwood Orthopedic Rehabilitation and Unimed Billing, inc. integrated into Elmwood Healthcare.Igor was born in Odessa, Ukraine, USSR in 1960. His father was physical education teacher and his mother was engineer. Igor enrolled into Pedagogical College to follow his father footsteps to become physical education teacher.Igor’s first employment was at cardiac rehabilitation unit where he was instructing and monitoring patients in exercises during their recuperating from myocardial infarction.Igor and his family despised communist regime in Soviet Union and when opportunity presented itself in 1990, Igor and his family immigrated to the USA.In order to advance his knowledge Igor applied to University of Massachusetts, Lowell for Physical Therapy program and successfully graduated with Master of Science Degree in 1996.Upon passing his license examination, Igor founded what later became Atlantis Physical Therapy Group, inc in Roxbury MA. Being an immigrant himself Igor liked to work with people of similar background and built successful physical therapy business in minority communities.In 2002, Igor founded Elmwood Orthopedic Rehabilitation Center in Providence, RI. Working with elderly and aging population Igor recognized the need for long term community based care and in 2012 Igor founded Elmwood Adult Day Healthcare, with the first center opening in the previously vacant building adjacent to his Physical Therapy office. In 2014, Igor purchased the building from Salvation Army, and the second Adult Day Center was born.In order to provide continuum of care to participants of Adult Day Care Centers, in 2016, Igor founded Elmwood Home Care, that now provides skilled and non-skilled home care services in Rhode Island.Igor continues to work as Physical Therapist at Elmwood Orthopedic Rehabilitation Center and managing day to day operations of Elmwood Healthcare. He resides with his family in Needham, Massachusetts. He is married to Masha Yatskar and has three boys, ages 9, 12 and 30. Recently, Igor became a grandfather to adorable Amelia. In his spare time Igor likes to play golf and tennis, ski in the winter as well as traveling with his family and attending soccer games with his kids.
