About Ilene Flaherty

I am a graduate of Kent State University with a degree in Visual Communication Design. Over the course of the four years I spent in college, I developed skills in Adobe Creative Cloud, especially InDesign, Illustrator, After Effects, Photoshop, and Dimension. I also learned to code websites using HTML and CSS as well as how to design typefaces using TypeTool 3. I also developed communication skills during critiques. With these skills, I understand how to communicate my ideas for other designers' work as well as utilize their thoughts and implement them into my own work. Critiques in college helped me better comprehend design elements and terms, as these critiques have given me the opportunity to see them visually. During my time in college, I was a member of Kappa Kappa Psi, National Honorary Band Fraternity where I worked closely with other members of the organization to develop teamwork, leadership, team building, meeting, and communication skills. I also further developed these skills by attending conventions organized by the National Council of the organization. While working at Acme Fresh Market, I also further developed by teamwork, communication, leadership, and team building skills working at the customer service desk. I work closely with other associates to satisfy customers, ensure money balances in tills, and order supplies for the store.
