About Ilja Bartels

I've worked in various engineering roles during my career, ranging from mechatronics and (food)factory design to electronics production equipment and managing process automation / OT in pharmaceuticals. Because I've worked in a variety of roles, seen a lot of factories and have a broad spectrum of professional and personal interests, I am proficient in connecting with all layers of an organisation. My main interest has always been working with highly automated systems or high tech equipment, whether it was troubleshooting and optimization or designing them. I've worked internationally in almost every country in Europe and a few times outside of EU as well, which was a valuable experience learning about all the different cultures and people. In my spare time I work on a lot of technical projects, as I like to design and build CNC machines and carbon composite parts as a hobby. I like conceptual thinking and problem solving but don't mind going into detail or working with my hands when the need arrives. Key experiences: Designing production lines, 3D CAD, Industrial Automation, software, vision systems, optimizing equipment, project / sales engineering, contracts, installation & commissioning, troubleshooting, factory digitalisation ('full stack', from L0 sensor to L5 Cloud), IT/OT,(process) data driven decision making.
