Ima Peter is a multi-award winning, seasoned communications professional with almost two decades of experience in the industry. She is a leading industry contributor, panellist, and guest lecturer, sharing insights on multiple disruptive trends shaping the industry. She is currently a Business Director and Head of Corporate at Razor PR. As a Business Director: Head of Corporate, she is focused on developing and executing successful communication strategies for some of the world's most recognised brands. Her portfolio includes companies in the technology, finance, and consumer goods sectors. She has worked with brands such as Standard Bank, Anglo American, Tiger Brands, Investec, Milken-Motsepe Prize, Research In Motion (BlackBerry) Red Hat, Deloitte, Rand Refinery and the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) Canback, amongst others. One of Ima's most notable contributions to the public relations industry was being a Judge/Jury for the 2023 Young Changemakers Awards, Provoke Media. She has led the development of several award-winning campaigns across her career that have set new standards in the industry. She has also been actively involved in mentoring young professionals, helping to develop the next generation of communications leaders. Her contributions to key brands, companies, and the industry as a whole have been significant, and her commitment to innovation, creativity, and mentorship has set her apart. Ima holds a National Diploma in Public Relations from the University of Johannesburg, as well as certificates in Digital Communications from Ketchum University in the UK and Digital Marketing from Red & Yellow Creative School of Business, Udemy Academy, and School of Advertising. She has also completed a Leadership Development Programme at the University of Free State Business School. Ima began her career at the University of Johannesburg before joining Idea Engineers, where she worked her way up to becoming a PR Media Specialist. She then joined Magna Carta PR Agency in 2010, where she executed strategic marketing campaigns for clients such as Standard Bank, Deloitte, Rand Refinery, Red Hat, among others. In 2017, Ima left Magna Carta to join Conversation Group as the Head of Content Marketing. In 2019, she was recruited to be Head of PR for Cheil South Africa, leading the SSA & SCA (Central Africa) campaigns for Samsung Africa, before joining Razor PR in 2021.
