About Iman Suleiman

Growing up I always wanted to help people. This led me to pursue a degree in Social Work and even learn American Sign Language to interpret for the Deaf community. After graduating, I started working with teenagers in group homes. While rewarding, the emotional toll was more than I could bear and realized a social work career wasn’t for me. As the Covid 19 pandemic happened, soon after this realization, financial struggles started piling up as well. I knew I needed to find a new direction to pursue, and quick. An attractive opportunity to be a dental assistant came up and I didn’t think twice. I got my certification and tried my hand at it. While the prospects were great, it soon became obvious that medical knowledge and skills were not my forte. However, what I have learned has been priceless! Both of these experiences, social and dental work, have taught me valuable lessons, including working under pressure, paying attention to details, and managing my time properly. Given what I know now, I believe a field where being responsible for people’s wellbeing would not be an area where I could thrive. However, being in a team environment, working with product lines, spreadsheets, data, or administration has started to sound more and more appealing to me. In such an environment, I could bring my training and transferable skills to assists with product management, process implementation and execution, monitoring, and planning. So I am currently looking for a promising opportunity where my experiences can be put to good use, in a collaborative, goal-driven environment that brings a new sense of purpose to my career.
