Background
About Imani Lee
Meet Imani Lee, also known as Imani Lenz — a visionary storyteller, budding music artist, and the community-focused founder of Black Stock Footage, LLC. As a seasoned videographer and photographer, Imani creates powerful visuals that amplify real stories and empower underrepresented communities. Recognizing a major gap in stock footage that authentically represents Black life and culture, Imani transformed his passion for production into a movement—building Black Stock Footage, a content platform and licensing library dedicated to culturally rich, high-quality visuals that reflect everyday Black experiences with depth and dignity. Off camera, Imani is equally committed to uplifting creatives and entrepreneurs through intentional collaborations and community-driven projects. His mission has been recognized by leading innovation programs, including the Black Ambition program founded by Pharrell Williams and the Tampa Bay Wave Tech Diversity Accelerator. His accolades also include the NAACP Powershift Entrepreneur Grant from Shark Tank’s Daymond John and a first-place win in a Microsoft for Startups pitch competition. Whether behind the lens or behind the mic, Imani continues to use his creativity to inspire, connect, and preserve culture for generations to come. In 2016, Imani graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications with a minor in Entrepreneurship. During his four years at USF, Imani held several internships including at USF Athletics filming live collegiate sports games, Walt Disney World in the communications field, and Diamond View Studios. Upon graduating, he worked as a digital media producer for Hillsborough County Government for four years, specializing in promotional videos, mini-documentaries, and event coverage all related to local county government affairs. While working for the County, he obtained his MBA from National Louis University. After receiving his MBA, Imani founded a six-figure micro-creative agency in 2020 called Imani Lee Creative. He specialized in video content creation for state, local, city government agencies, non-profits, and small businesses.
