About Imani Russell

I believe that community is the most powerful tool that society can build, if done right. After pursuing my Bachelor's in Sociology, I learned more and more about the complicated and intricate ways in which our world works and the complex and thoughtful ways in which we must grow to build the best version of our society. I am dedicated to doing meaningful work that bridges people and communities and opens the world up to different cultures, more holistic knowledge-making, and greater empathy. I have brought this mindset to many different jobs: I have read and developed research on marginalized populations, I have built culturally explorative events for students, and I have managed external communications for governmental institutions in government. Next, I would like to bring this mindset to the arts, where I believe empathy and understanding along cross-cultural lines have the greatest potential for growth.
