Background

About Imani Ware

I am an undergraduate astrophysics student passionate about renewable energy, regenerative agriculture, and environmental justice. I have experience researching theoretical astronomy and radio cosmology; I use Python and Linux/Command-Line languages to analyze data and output comprehensive plots; I have held many leadership positions in various organizations, steering committees, and an international organization; and I have customer service experience from retail sales and volunteer positions. My current project is designing and executing an entirely off-grid, eco-friendly, and low-cost mobile living space. Through research and collaboration, I have begun constructing a tiny home space within a 2500 Ram Promaster Cargo Van with a High Roof and 159" wheelbase. My design consists of a robust high-energy electrical system with a 200-W solar system, 40-A DC-DC alternator relay, and optional 30-A shore-line power inputs. These inputs store charge in a 600-Ah 12-volt battery bank system which powers a Victron AC-DC Inverter-Charger, a two-burner induction stovetop, a 65-L dual-zone ICECO 12-V fridge, 12-V DC outlets, 120-V AC outlets, light switches, a water pump, and various monitoring systems for safety and security while operating the high-energy electrical system. In addition to a complete electrical system, the living space will be equipt with a 132-L fresh water tank, a three-stage water filtration system, a 75-L gray water tank, a full-sized sink, a hidden shower pan system, and a composting toilet. Every system within the tiny home space has been researched and designed for over 3 years with the intention to revolutionize the mobile home industry while maintaining environmental integrity, sustainability, and economic accessibility in a growing community of innovative living systems. The projected completion is December 2022.
