About Imogen S.

Imogen is a facilitator and educator focused on gendered and queer justice. Passionate about the transformative potential of Relationships and Sexuality Education for young people, she currently works as a Sexuality Educator in schools. She also tutors at university, aiming to expand her students' critical thinking and analysis within Criminology, focusing on the potential of alternatives to the criminal "justice" system through abolitionist teaching. Her work with Plan International as a Youth Activist has seen her design, write and edit research into girls' hopes for a world transformed by the pandemic. She also consults on strategic direction for the Youth Activist Program, and conducts research and workshops for ongoing campaigns. She also facilitates workshops for bystanders to intervene in street harassment. This focus on gendered justice has had her as a panelist on Q&A, as well as interviews with Women's Agenda, The Age/Sydney Morning Herald and Crikey. She also regularly speaks on panels and at conferences regarding climate anxiety and hope, and the importance of education and equipping youth with tools to be change-makers in their own communities. This passion for education extends into her work with Radiant, designing and facilitating workshops to train students in social impact and community organising. She also sat on the Board/Council of The University of Melbourne's Student Union in 2022, as well as a member of the Women's Committee.
