I lead the development, review, quality assurance, and transformation of data-driven health programmes across all facets of maritime occupational health. This includes:* Programmes for assessing medical fitness and capability of seafarers;* Identifying, monitoring, and mitigating seafarer travel health * Managing maritime operational health hazards by identification, monitoring, protection and surveillance;* Designing programmes that monitor and promote physical & mental health, well-being, and health behaviours of seafarers, fostering a culture of care;* Overseeing programmes for medical routine and emergency care on board ship, including planning for supplies, training, and telemedicine technology, and safe and efficient case escalation pathways * Crisis management and response * And closing the loop to seafarer fitness and capability for the next assignment. I collaborate with other experts and leaders in international maritime health and remote medicine, contributing to research on seafarer resilience and offshore telemedicine, shaping industry standards and guidelines, leveraging cross speciality synergies, and presenting insights on seafarer health at national and international conferences and workshops. I assist my maritime business partners with:> Navigating the complexities of seafarer health in international maritime transport, simplifying and aligning health related processes, and identifying and addressing barriers to both seafarer and business health > Identifying the right health metrics that can truly inform decision making and drive meaningful change In doing so, I create systematic solutions that not only enhance seafarer health but also contribute to sustainable business success in the long term.
