About Imogene Cancellare

My research interests are mediated by the desire to conserve biodiversity as well as study landscape connectivity regarding natural resource problems in conservation biology. Broadly, I am interested in correlations between landscape composition (as well as change) and gene flow in order to provide information on the biological processes that impact local adaptation, population structure, and population success. My current research focus is on the evolutionary history and landscape genetics/genomics of snow leopards. As a science communication specialist, I help wildlife-related nonprofits and organizations utilize social media to expand their brand and increase public awareness. I help teams create a social media content strategy through the development of personalized storytelling, fundraising, business and objective goals. I also regularly employ social media to teach the public about natural history, wildlife conservation, and careers in science.
