I am a seasoned business executive and board advisor with a proven track record in portfolio management, corporate finance, and turnaround strategies across a wide array of industries. With 23+ years of experience, I have been both an operator and an executive shaping long-term business strategy, establishing new business units/models, and bringing innovative products with meaningful enterprise and consumer applications to market. I currently work with BDC Capital's Cleantech Practice with portfolio management oversight of a $600M fund investing in Canadian companies with proprietary technology and a commitment to environment stewardship. Through flexible financing solutions, we help these leaders of tomorrow build pathways to profitability and scale their impact across new markets and product applications. Previously, I served as an Assistant Vice President of Portfolio Management– Growth and Equity Capital at the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC), where I specialize in business turnarounds and operational improvements for the bank’s portfolio companies. As an executive, I work with Canadian entrepreneurs to help them transform their operations at critical times, enhance efficiency and bolster financial performance. I operate on a collaborate philosophy to help companies quickly rationalize business models and develop new models where needed to create long-term shareholder value. As a leader, I am recognized for my transparency, candour, ability to identify key issues and drivers, and problem-solving mindset to structure bespoke solutions. The success I’ve had in my career to date stems from my ability to engage management and investors, help them crystallize a long-term vision and objectives, and then drive accountability on ongoing basis. These strategies have resulted in numerous successful exits for both shareholders and the BDC. During my tenture, I have cultivated a solid track record of turning numerous organizations from underperforming, negative EBITDA to successful, growing companies with materially positive EBITDA.
