About Imron Rasyid

Imron Rasyid has 20 years experience in the field of social development in Indonesia, including experience in field research on community-driven development and conflict and reconciliation studies. Between 2002 and 2006 he worked as researcher of social development unit of the World Bank Indonesia a researcher in several research projects conducted by Social development unit of the World Bank Jakarta, including the Kecamatan Development Program (KDP) and community conflict negotiation study, KDP matching grant study, KDP qualitative impact study, and GAM livelihood assessment. Between 2008 and 2011, he worked for the Conflict and Development Program of the World Bank in Indonesia on the Violence Conflict in Indonesia Study (ViCIS), which established a database of violent incidents that became the baseline for the National Violence Monitoring System (NVMS). Between 2012 and 2015, Imron worked at The Habibie Center (THC), a think tank, as a project manager for analytical activities based on NVMS data. His team produced analysis and policy recommendation to the government and other stakeholders. In 2016, he worked on building dialogue and mediation capacity of Indonesian interfaith institution. Currently, he manages Countering Terrorism and Violent Extremism in Indonesia, a two years program funded by the counter-terrorism and capacity building program, DFATD, The Government of Canada. He also supports as an expert on dialogue and mediation of Building Women’s Capacity as Agent of Peace to Promote Social Cohesion and PVE, a program funded by UN Women.
