I am a Senior at the University of North Texas at Denton, studying for a Bachelors of Science in Business Logistics & Supply Chain Management. My current job occupation is a cashier at the Taste of Asia restaurant, which includes a variety of tasks and daily goals to complete in a shifts worth while having to work in a very fast paced environment. This being having to stand up from 6-12 hours to complete the daily tasks needed by management, helping the lead chef with on coming inventory from the daily delivery truck, learning and teaching new POS systems to team mates, using math skills at the end of every shift calculating the total amount of tips and making sure they are adjusted in the system resulting in that both the machine and books are matching. This job helped me gain real life experience and skill sets that I can use to further myself in a career standpoint.With the skill sets that I currently posses, as well as the education and knowledge I am learning in Supply Chain Management through UNT, I am hoping in the near future to gain a real hands on experience in the Supply Chain field. This being through an internship where I can learn by the management staff's side what truly goes on in a supply chain company, or even a job shadowing opportunity. It would be an extremely grateful and appreciative time for me when the chance comes to learn the ins and outs of a supply chain with real experience in the field as my anticipated graduation at the University of North Texas at Denton will be completed by the end of the Spring 2024 semester.For the upcoming summer, I plan to take a variety of courses through UDEMY to further and build my knowledge in what practices, supply chain managerial roles, and tactics are used in the field. These courses I have lined up consist of Supply Chain fundamentals, SAP use in supply chain logistics, warehouse management in logistics, strategic cost management in procurement, and a certified white belt course in six sigma.
