Background
About Indiana Womack
I bring adaptability, determination, and a deep appreciation for the human spirit to my work. I thrive in work environments where I can approach problems creatively and nurture the development of others. My passion is to serve historically underserved populations, and my long term goal is to meet the needs of my community by improving access to behavioral health care. I currently serve my community as the Housing Coordinator Supervisor at Telecare SOAR in Sacramento. We provide Full-Service Partnership services to adults with serious mental illnesses and substance use disorders. I am proud to have grown in this organization from beginning June 2022 as a case manager II, to advancement to case manager to my current leadership role in our housing team.I am CAS, HMIS, and California Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist certified.I graduated from Sacramento State University after transferring from Sierra College with two associate's degrees. My lifelong passion for learning shows in the breadth of my coursework: writing, welding, fine art, electronics, fashion, and sociology. I earned my Bachelors of Arts in Psychology, and I have served as a peer mentor in my major, as well as an officer in Psi Chi, a Psychology honor society. The practice of advocacy and organizing that led me to found Beyond the Binary, an organization for transgender, intersex, and gender non-conforming students while attending Sierra College, was continued in my work at the Sacramento State Women's Resource Center. My interest in Biopsychology motivated me to pursue a minor in Biology, focusing on human anatomy. My placements after completing my degree included fieldwork at A Community for Peace to finish the requirements for my 40-hour Domestic Violence Peer Counselor (1037) training and fieldwork at the Gender Health Center in their Harm Reduction department to finish my fieldwork for WISE University Peer Support Specialist training. Like many professionals, my career path was impacted by the pandemic, resulting in placements outside the behavioral health field. I advanced within the security field by using my quantitative data analysis, project management, and leadership skills.
