TEACHING PHILOSOPHY As a teacher, guiding and supporting students through their formative years is an honoured responsibility and a privilege for me. I believe that the main purpose of education is to instil in every student a passion for life, a love of learning and the courage and confidence to serve others. My role as a teacher is not necessarily to select the path for the student to travel, but to support and guide the path they choose for themselves, encouraging them to achieve to their maximum potential in their chosen direction. My role is also to ensure that the students grow up as compassionate and socially responsible citizens. My approach to teaching is greatly influenced by my beliefs in the following: • That every student counts every day • That no two students are identical so I need to engage with each of them individually • That students need to work cooperatively in an environment that reflects our society and • That technology needs to be incorporated as far as possible as it enriches the curriculum and opens the window to an exciting world of possibilities I have followed this approach for more than 10 years and have been extremely successful in developing students through their senior years in IB, IGCSE, VCE and HSC curriculums. I am currently registered to teach in Australia as well as in Singapore.
