About Indratmo Indratmo

I chose a career in teaching because I want to inspire my students. Teaching is not just about transferring knowledge to students. To teach is to set an example. To instill in students a love of learning. To demonstrate integrity, fairness, and understanding. To show that the process of learning is as important as, if not more important than, the outcome of learning. To achieve these objectives, I always try to explain not only what I teach but also why I teach in a particular way. Students need to know the underlying reasons for classroom activities and the design of course outlines so that they are more open to participate and engage in the learning process. I enjoy teaching both introductory and advanced computer science courses. My research interests cover multidisciplinary areas of information visualization, human-computer interaction, and social computing. Outside the academic world, I enjoy traveling, hiking, and camping in the Canadian Rockies. Specialties: Human-computer interaction, information management, exploration, and visualization.
