Before I became a writer, my professional journey began in oncology nursing and evolved into leadership roles in health technology and informatics. At McKesson Specialty, I served as Vice President, overseeing clinical services and business intelligence initiatives. Earlier in my career, I held roles at Amgen and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. I retired from healthcare in 2019, but that career sharpened my ability to analyze complexity, tell stories with data, and lead teams — strengths I now bring to my work as a writer, memoirist, and speaker on themes of belonging, travel, and identity. Between Worlds: An Expat’s Quest for Belonging, was published in 2025. My hiking memoir, Highs and Lows on the John Muir Trail, won the Best Outdoor Book award in 2015 from the Outdoor Writers Association of California (OWAC), and The Hungry Spork Trail Recipes was recognized as the Best Outdoor Guidebook in 2020 (OWAC). When I'm home, I'm based in Sonoma, California.
