dr. IGP Peeters (PhD, 2005) is a physiotherapist (PT), a health scientist (MSc; specialisation Human Movement Sciences - Biomedical Track, Maastricht University) and an epidemiologist (MSc; Faculty of Medicine, VU University of Amsterdam). In spare time, a private Pilot for single-engine piston aircrafts. SHE IS APPOINTED AS- a Sr. Researcher/Assoc. Professor to the MUMC+, Dep. of Family Medicine and the Academy for Postgraduate Medical Training with strong focus on quality of education/quantity of training numbers within current Dutch laws and regulations. Research on financing of Health Care (comparing reimbursement systems in the EU) resulted in current educational involvement and formerly dissertations of PhD-students- Currently member of the MUMC+ Works Council (2024-2027). MILESTONE: Developed and implemented the first Central Education Commission for Specialized Nurses in the Netherlands > more info, see Dutch article below. RESEARCH TOPICS INVOLVED:(1) A focus on cooperation between primary and secondary care, hereby dealing with the change in healthcare demand through the increasing prevalence of chronic diseases and amount of (frail) elderly.(2) Evaluation (mixed-methods research) of educational Medicine programmes/trainings (for residents and specialists) and developing Quality Standards for RN's in specialty training.(3) Future focus:(1) Lean working in aviation management systems.(2) What can pilots and medical doctors learn from each other regarding standardized training and working procedures in order to maintain a high quality of safety in uniform working processes (crew research management)> The implementation of flipped classroom (see article) was introduced in Multi-Pilot Licence Training (@Benoit Morren).
